Families:
Endangered Species Eaten by Corporations
No
amount of success can compensate
for
failure of the family.
David O. McKay
We
all know the good stuff about families. This page
is about the bad coming about from family
breakdown.
Wonder
why mothers could afford to stay home in
1950 but not now?
Birthrate
to maintain a stable population 2.1 births/couple.
Birthrate
in US at this
time
1.8 births/couple.
We're going extinct.
At this birth rate our population will halve in 4
generations.
Nursing
home residents seldom speak of job titles or
honors. They talk primarily
about their family, what they've found really
meant something in their life.
Living
together outside marriage may or may not be a sin,
but it is certainly keeping
options open or expressing strong doubt that the
relationship will endure.
Funny
how curves of divorce rate and two paycheck
families look the same.
Leaving
a child at a day care facility violates every
motherly instinct.
Sexual
freedom may not seem to fit into talk about
families, but did you ever
notice that the more sexual freedoms, the more
sexual crimes we see.
If
we had more babies we wouldn't have to import
people (immigrants).
You
already know this - statistics leave no doubt that
kids from divorced parents have more problems in
life. Single parent kids
really get it, more job and school problems,
future earnings, drugs, a greater chance of living
in poverty, you name it.
Parenting,
the only job you'll never lose. Biology tells us
that preserving our genes is the primary drive for
survival of the fittest. It
talks about mating and rearing young but never
mentions careers.
